Plures Technologies is in the final phase of acquiring and recapitalizing Advanced MicroSensors (AMS), an established high volume MEMS fabrication facility. AMS offers a complete suite of MEMS processing capabilities and specific expertise in the use of magnetic films for MEMS and other applications.
Plures, headquartered in Canandaigua, New York is a business development company specializing in developing and acquiring high-potential innovations and assets. Once potential investments are pre-screened, Plures says that it deploys its management, financial and scientific resources to turn around these underperforming assets in the marketplace to generate a return on investment for investors as well as high-tech jobs for the community.
Since 1999, Advanced MicroSensors (AMS), with their headquarters and facilities in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts has been producing high volume MEMS and thin-film magnetic devices for commercial and industrial customers around the world. AMS' roots are in the design and manufacture of integrated read/write magneto-resistive (MR) and giant magneto-resistive (GMR) magnetic recording heads. Based on this history and background, AMS is now a specialty MEMS and magnetic device developer and producer that provides standard and custom components such as switches and sensors for large and small customers.
