Micralyne showcases MEMS technology platforms for emerging sensing applications

180621 Micralyne logoThe company will be showcasing standardized MEMS process technologies that advance the speed of commercialization of emerging sensing applications. Micralyne will be featuring MicraMOx, a MEMS process platform for highly miniaturized metal oxide gas sensors for environmental sensing applications. Localized gas sensing is critically important in industrial settings and in homes. Coupled with IoT use cases, miniaturized gas sensors enable economical and connected environmental sensing. Metal oxide gas sensors have been available for many years, but they required improvements in power consumption, cost, stability, and gas selectivity.

Tronics signs an industrialization contract for MEMS based gas detection

160222 Tronics logoTronics, a designer and manufacturer of nano and microsystems, has signed an industrialization contract with a leading supplier of gas sensors for industrial applications.  This partnership amounts to approximately $750,000 and will lead in 2017 to pilot production of MEMS based optical gas detectors, with potential manufacturing revenue between $550,000 and $1.1 million per year.  Interest in gas sensors for industrial applications is growing, mainly driven by more stringent safety requirements.  This momentum paves the way for new opportunities in the field of optical MEMS, which enable further miniaturization and cost reduction compared to existing technologies.
